We have joined MISIÓN GUAJIRA 3, a project led by a group of friends in order to help the people of La Guajira. Colombia is a country with many needs and La Guajira is one of the poorest regions; one of the principal issues is water shortage which has caused many problems within the area. One of our dreams is to assist the people of Guajira to find a solution in order for them to have better living conditions
The Misión Guajira 3 team will travel in April to visit the Mayabangloma “ranchería” (ranch) to bring food, water, medicines, toys and clothing. We hope that we have collected the money needed to build a water well that has been quoted approximately fifty million Colombian pesos which equals $15,000 USD, depending on water table depth.
What is Pimp?
On December 2021 we joined Pimp, a charitable organization that seeks to improve working conditions, increase visibility, and recognize waste collectors’ environmental contributions while encouraging citizens to reduce waste and improve recycling. The organization acts under the premise of ART as a tool for social change and communication.
How are we participating?
#PimpeaTuCorazon was an event designed for the wives of waste collectors to find a space for emotional growth and professional enrichment; Where they had the opportunity to connect with their feminine energy through yoga and meditation, be trained as jewelers and set an intention that allowed them to start the new year empowered.
Donations
On December 2021, we collected donations to give our waste collectors’ families HOPE during Christmas. With the donations we were able to buy some essential groceries and interactive games for the children of the community.
With the donations we were able to continue giving hope and promote a conscious and responsible change in the community.
